My First White Wednesday & Giveaway

Hello White Wednesday!
Over the years, I've viewed, read, and sighed over the many photos and blogs linking from Kathleen at Faded Charms' White Wednesday postings, but this is my first time to join the rodeo!

In honor of my first White Wednesday, I will be giving away one of my custom designed pillow shams... a 24 x 24 WHITE linen Maison de vie with small crown crest
and finished with raw edge latte colored ruffle.
(See details at end of blog to be entered in drawing.)

Being from the Lone Star state,
I welcome you into my home with a large oversize white tin star draped by old glory.

Next to white hydrangeas, I love white tulips.

My small white china cabinet is home to a few of my favorite whites....

Whether it's a picnic or holiday dinner, my white plates
and vintage white monogram napkins are used often.

My bird design pillows continue to sell well when featured on white linen.

 And speaking of pillows....

To enter to win the Maison de vie pillow sham (sorry, down insert not included)

2) Join as a follower

Drawing will be on Sunday evening!
Thank you for welcoming me to White Wednesday!

Setting Sail in Stripes

I love stripes.  I love how fresh and clean stripes look both in daily wear and home accents.  And while I'm sure there is  a fashion guru out there who would advise me  that at  my height (and weight), I should probably avoid them, oh well.... I've always been a bit of a rule breaker.

This time of year stripes seem to heavily accented with the nautical theme.  Suddenly I find myself wanting to set sail (and I don't even like to get on boats).

But my love affair with stripes isn't limited to the fashion world, I have always loved ticking and the way it can be incorporated into the home.  I'm currently searching for a really great gray stripe ticking to make pillows for my sofa if anyone knows of a source.
