Some of you may be familiar with the postman's unofficial oath - "Rain or Shine, Snow or Sleet, nothing will stop me from delivering your mail."

Well, I believe true junkers also have an unofficial pledge that goes something like this....  No weather - Rain or Shine, Snow or Sleet OR HEAT will keep me from getting to a good flea market or vintage show. That was certainly the case several weekends ago, when California experienced its blistering heat wave and I ventured out to The Vintage Oaks Market Place show on Saturday and to Rosebowl on Sunday.

The Vintage Oaks Market Place featured a line up of amazing vendors all highlighting the shows "Farm Girl" theme.   My friend Robin Slominski and I agreed to meet at the show grounds early, have breakfast, and get in and out with our shopping before the heat hit.  Well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad. I was so mesmerized by all the junk eye candy and I was there long after the temperatures hit the three digits.

Was it worth worth  piling on the sunscreen, sweating like crazy and drinking enough water to keep Arrowhead in business for many years - ABSOLUTELY.

As you approached The Vintage Market Place entrace you were immediately greeted by Sarah and Abby's customized linens. The mother/daughter team have become known for their burlap pumpkins. Of course, most were already sold by the time we got there!

No sooner did you walk into the show when you are struck by Debbie Watt's Blossom Vintage Chic booth.  Although it was filled with her trademark white designs, my favorite item in her booth was this old shoe rack holder. She has an incredible eye and her booth is always a show stopper.

When you walk into Robin's booth, you immediately wish you had a beach house cottage so you can decorate it with all of her treasures.

There was only one thing missing from this adorable lemonade stand - the lemonade!

There is no one sweeter than Grace Abounding vendor Janice who travels from Arizona to sell at the show. She truly is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

Her vignettes always display her jewelry wares in a simple yet graceful manner.

Here is Robin with just one of her many purchases.  This Dalmatian dog went home with her.

I loved, loved, loved Rachel's Union Jack bags!

A couple of other wonderful vignettes at The Oaks Market Place.

The next day it was on to Rosebowl and despite the heat, the day did not disappoint!

So now I ask you to raise your right hand and recite the junker's oath after me -
No rain or shine, snow, sleet or HEAT will keep me from a great day of junking!
